|
|
would anyone be interested in doing a round robin 2-on-2 day one Sunday?
Might be a fun way to mix it up one day, but still give everyone a good, challenging day of play with everyone getting in as many games as everyone else.
In case some of you don't know exactly how a round robin works, the idea is that every "team" involved gets to play each other once. So, say we had as many as 12 people show up to play (which is pretty typical on Sundays here), that would be six 2-person teams, allowing every team to play each other over the course of 15 matches, giving each team a total of 5 games throughout the day.
Teams could be chosen at random or pre-formed, and we could always keep stats and acknowledge things like most wins, most goals scored, most crashes, etc.
Just an idea... _________________ ------------[] O |

i think this sounds great. it'll not only give everyone a chance to play as much as everyone else, but it will help show some of the public that we have better organizational skills that figuring how many pbr's we need to keep everyone happy, although that is a very handy skill to have.
the only problem would be if people end up showing up late to play or even if any of the public want to get in, it would throw off the tourney. I'd love to see some public step up, but it will end up being a matter of priorities. _________________ pterodactyl bike gang for life! |

I'm not really counting on any public, really. I was mostly thinking about this as a way of breaking from our normal Sunday routine.
And you're right... as soon as we set a time and formed teams, someone else would roll up, or someone would have to leave early.... so it would definitely be tricky to pull off seamlessly, but the good thing about round robin play is if you're missing a team to play, that match is a bye and one team sits out, or you give them the win by default... no big deal. _________________ ------------[] O |
