|
|
On October the 14th there City Council is going to vote on a 6 mile Bike Lanes through the town of Berea; the Halloween ride is going to be either a ride in rejoice or in protest. So beware!
I know things are happening in Lexington BUT in Berea at 5pm on October 31 there will be a Critical Mass style Halloween ride. Stops along the way for free ice-cream cone at McDonalds, free food at the Black Feather Cafe and then a big meet up with mini-bike olympic events, tall-bike jousting, foot-down. Best costume gets a gigantic prize but we're not saying.
Berea's fun (I swear) but we're tiny and we've got to go 12 miles north for beer so BYOB and bring a lot. |

Tall bike jousting?!?
shit... you guys got Lexington beat on that for sure! Our forum friend, "politicalhero" has long been waiting to get his teeth knocked out by someone on a bike with a big-ass jousting pole. Now he knows where to go, should he ever feel the need. _________________ ------------[] O |

If Berea has enough tall bikes for jousting (ie two or more) and Lexington doesn't it is a sad commentary on our lack of freakbikeitude.
This calls for a mini-bike olympics intercity challenge, by gum.
And/or Berea people coming up here to hang out for 2nd Sunday and stuff. |

well, actually George's tall bike that Alex now owns is made from three frames, so we got that going for us... and then there's that Raleigh fixed gear conversion with the blue Deep V's that is always parked outside Charmed Life... which is such a freakishly large frame, if you raised the saddle a bit it could probably pass as a tall bike...
I dunno... I'm reaching here. _________________ ------------[] O |

We got one tall bike that is really easy to tip over backwards and hasn't seen the light of day in over a year.
Those Berea cats are in our heads, man, IN OUR HEADS! |

This was something i was thinking about today for an alleycat idea. You think it would work, getting people from cities all over kentucky coming up and dueling? I dont know what the scene is like in bowling green, ashland and other further away cities, but im sure some covington/cincinnati people would come as well as some louisville.
that, or maybe i should stop watching bike kill videos. |

Now, look what we have here before us. We got the Saracens sitting next to the Jones Street Boys. We've got the Moonrunners right by the Van Cortlandt Rangers. Nobody is wasting nobody. That... is a miracle. And miracles is the way things ought to be.
You're standing right now with nine delegates from 100 gangs. And there's over a hundred more. That's 20,000 hardcore members. Forty-thousand, counting affiliates, and twenty-thousand more, not organized, but ready to fight: 60,000 soldiers! Now, there ain't but 20,000 police in the whole town.
Can you dig it?

The funny thing about the tall-bikes is some girl made them all and according to legend she was wearing an American flag bikini at the time. The sparks flecked off her golden body.
Yes, the Berea kids would come up (i'd say we'd let people come down but the whole thing about being a dry town) and joust. |

Hey Pat, would it kill you to dress like that every once and a while?
Ok, that settles it, we can't be outdone by Berea. We have to be ready to meet their jousting challenge. Who's with me? |
