|
|
I have a few race ideas rolling around in my head that I would love to see happen. In the past folks on this board have mentioned "how do I plan a race, can I help someone, etc." Now is your chance. I have a few nugget ideas but really could use some help thinking about them a little more and then some actual help pulling them off.
If you are interested in planning a race, lending graphic design skilz, finding sponsors, etc then let me know and we can get started.
Nugget ideas include:
1. Broke Spoke II: A team race of at least 55 miles.
Here are some photos of the original broke spoke... look how we have all grown... different bikes and more tattoos

2. Deck the hall, Bust your balls |

I dont know enough people yet to plan a race, nor do i really have the time at all, but I could probably help with graphic design stuff, or work on it with other people.
And how does a 55 mile alleycat work?? |

I too have a cool idea for a race, but it's not the "best" idea if you know what I mean... could be kinda well... dangerous. _________________ ------------[] O |

1] drink lots of beer
2] cut everyone's brake cable whilst drinking beer. for mike m, cut both tires & weld headset slightly turned to the right
3] make everyone take a shot of bourbon at each checkpoint
4] no lights allowed
5] race starts at 11pm _________________ How about, "Can you NOT rip a giant hole in our downtown and erect a big goddamn penis full of crappy chain businesses?"

If all the fixies had to rotate their non-drive side crank arm 180 degrees I'd be all for it.

I think all five would be a great idea
but then I know jkizzle wouldn't be able to join the fun
I hear he can't drink much beer,
or ride without brakes. |

yeah i think a bourbon festival alleycat is in order, 10 check points shot at each, ends at bluegrass tavern. skid and footdown competition two hours later.
too bad illride couldnt participate, he generally spends the night laying on the floor after one or two brown sauces, and nevermind brakes, he just breaks his leg after a few drinks on the bike. |

Tim, I'll help drink beer. Or anything else similarly productive or euphoric.
Deck the halls, bust your balls sounds painful, but does ring a cheerful mood. |

Salsa dancing wildly at the latino fest it came to in a blaze of sequins and white denim....do a fundraiser for polo.
So here's an idea. Through up the poster, do some pr, and when people show up at registration ask them one question: how would rate your polo skillz? Have 3 jars to drop the registrant's name in the appropriate answer...one jar for never played, one jar for have played, and the other jar for mad champion. Pull one name from each jar to randomly assemble teams of 3 and then send them to the court.
But here's the challenge. Along they way each team needs to complete team building and drama making exercises. Passing exercises, relay race, keg stands, etc... The first two teams that make it to the court will play a game. The next 2 teams play on the other court and there unfolds the tournament until there's one team unbeaten. Afterparty at Al's to soak up the blood and bruised egos.
Of course sticks and community bikes will need to be provided...but that's where the registration kitty goes. |

Seems like that would take some organizational skills but it sounds like a great idea...I for one am a polo virgin and I've been itching to get into it. |
