So that's where you went. If I'd known I would have gotten you that birthday drink I owe you. |

downtown was covered in the dust and debris from this around ride back from lunch at 1230. I had to stop to clean out my eyes. The old courthouse plaza was covered in the shit. It was kind of ironic seeing the old government building getting covered in the grime of the demolished buildings. |

What happened to their bullshit plan to save the façade of the pawn shop...
Quote: | Developers of a controversial high-rise project in downtown Lexington have submitted revamped plans...Attempting to preserve the façade of the Rosenberg jewelry store. |

This open wound in downtown is going to be the source of dust and pollution for a long time to come...I still cannot fathom their tower of crap in the streetscape and skyline. _________________ "The path of least resistance is what makes the river crooked!” - Utah Phillips |

i believe that plan was pawned off.
what i'm hoping for now is that they don't really have the money to continue with the project and they are forced to give up. eventually leaving it to the city to turn it into a park. a park in the middle of downtown the size of a city block would be so fucking sweet! |

Yes, we could call it Dudley Court, Newberry Hill, or Rosenberg Meadow. |

Jim Gray called bullshit on the facade, which it was, so Dudley took it off the building. |

Jim Gray for mayor.
In other news, Clyde Carpenter, Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (their highest honor for the national organization in charge of all architects and their professional registration) and chair of the Historic Preservation Graduate program at UK has been removed from the Historic Review Board by Mayor Newberry, citing reasons such as "he asked to be removed" (not true as Clyde discussed with me tonight) and "he already served a term" (which is fine, there is a two term limit not a one term limit). Then when questioned about why the new nominees to the board were not really qualified (one a PR person who heavily supported the Newberry camp(shame)paign and another a lawyer who supports the Webb Companies supposedly), he said that no qualified individuals were nominated (also not true, at least two architects with historic preservation backrounds were nominated).
Somebody has a hand on Newberry's cock, and I wonder where the arm leads? |

It seems brokebike's poster The End of Busters has come true now that this is the last building standing on the block...
At this point I am hoping things go so badly that iridetoobs city block sized park idea comes true. _________________ "The path of least resistance is what makes the river crooked!” - Utah Phillips |

came to me in a vision... what can I say?
I want this whole thing to go so badly that heads roll. Newberry's, the Webbs', fucking Harold Tate... I honestly don't care who, as long as those who are behind this get their already shoddy reputations publicly skewered. _________________ ------------[] O |

That is horrible news about Claude. Don't know him personally but have friends both historic preservationist and architects how speak highly of him. Newberry is turning out to be quite the piece of shit. Think how highly we all thought of him after the bike summit. It is amazing how far a turd will sink. _________________ Albert Einstein trembled when he found out time was water. Seeping through the rafters to put out this burning world. |
