It seems like we have a pretty good conversation going about what our club needs/wants to grow. I figured I would bring a lot of the topics under one header so it would be easier to update/address them. Feel free to add on if you think I've missed one.
1) Neighborhood chums: I know we originally said "only players allowed inside," but since some of the kids are saying they are there to play, I want to drop the formality and say "no kids inside, period." James and I have talked about getting a gate or barricade of some sort to keep them out. Any ideas?
2) gate locks:Last we left off, Burton had offered to send a set to Pat. Have you two been in touch about this? Is this possible?
3) goals:Rich has some netting for two goals. Do we want to lace a set up and tell the soccer guys they're only allowed to use the other set? It's been said before, but they really need to chip in on this. They've easily put the most wear and tear on all four.
4) sign:a straightforward sign basically laying out that the courts are for polo, some of our bigger rules, etc. I'm not sure what's happening with this.
Thoughts/ideas? Put them out there! |

This is the "summarized" version of what was talked about in the court security thread.
PAT, I know you check this site every hour! Are you getting the locks from Burton? Don't make me come steal all your basil! |

I agree with a sign delineating that the courts are prioritized for polo, that only players are allowed inside the courts, and that all gates should be locked and that there should be a gate for the center entrance.
I also think we should keep some sort of maintenance stuff (push broom, dustpan, etc) for sweeping the courts, and maybe some Roundup to kill encroaching fauna on the courts. I've noticed that especially in the corners that pine needles and other things make playing generally hazardous in those spots. |
