we're going to see what happens. Come 11am, if it is pouring rain, we'll make a decision at that point whether to set a rain date, or cancel it altogether.

Most likely, it will get rescheduled if it looks to be a total wash-out that day.

It'll suck for the void guys if their event gets rained out for a 2nd time.

The Velo Swap is still good to go, and we're going to be velo-swappin' until 4pm barring any torrential downpours... so come on down to the Void.

See you there!

Big thank you's to everyone who braved the cloudy skies and the occasional drizzle to make our 2nd Velo Swap another huge success! The turnout seemed even bigger than last year's, which really surprised me considering the threat of rain was there pretty much all day.

Big thanks also to Shane and Jarah, who rolled out their new bike-related venture, "Smoothie Bike" and served up bike-blended fruit & Ale-8 fizzes all afternoon.

Here's a Flickr set from the event:

Happy Bike Lexington! Here's to a great month of bike events ahead!

I couldn't stay long, but I made a stop at the swap before going to my dad's birthday lunch. It seemed like it was going to be a great event. I got to make my wife and I drinks on the blender bike. By the way, was really fucking cool! I also brought down some friends that bought three bikes. I love Lexington's bicycle community!

Amazing Job. Everyone was making money hand over fist. I think the best success story (besides the bike blender unveiling) was the Kyle-Dan connection. Dan purchased Kyle's fixed IRO and then Dan put a sale tag on his road bike (which he rode to the swap) and then it sold. Dan left with a new bike and a zero balance.

I sold a lot of bike lexington shirts and you can get them at various events throughout bike month.

Great Job Turner

I like Roscoe's story. He showed up late with two great, complete bikes... but he showed up after everyone else had pretty much packed up and left. Then it started to sprinkle, and those who were left standing were starting to pack up. I felt bad that he had missed the crowds that were there earlier in the day when everyone was buying and selling.

Then, up walks one of the lexrides forum members (whose name I can't recall right now, but I've talked to him at several races), looking for a bike to give as a gift to his mom, and BAM! Roscoe sells one of his bikes to him right there. Two more people leave the swap happy.

I can't wait to build up a new road wheelset from the awesome old Campy hubs I bought from Matt Hassman!

Its true. Lots of fun and success stories for everyone. Thanks to everybody who helped pull the swap together. This was my first year and I thought it was great!
