so i bought a 1 1/8 integrated headset online except it still has some play when i install it.
are there different options in sizing of a 1 1/8 int. headset? _________________ The sound of a car door opening in front of you is similar to the sound of a gun being cocked. ~Amy Webster |

Are you sure that you needed an integrated headset and not a traditional one? Also there have been a few different versions of integrated headsets and I'm not sure that they are all compatible with eachother. |

I'm not sure this applies to your situation, but one of the flaws of the integrated headset design - especially if you're using a frame that was previously fitted with an integrated headset - is that the bearings over time can distort the headtube itself because there are no upper and lower cups to seat against as with a traditional design. The forces and stress exerted at those points can wear at the softer metal of the frame and cause the headset to not fit properly. _________________ ------------[] O |

yeah, i definitely needed an integrated headset. its a raleigh road frame, some what higher end made around 2003 or so.
you might be right, maybe it is out of wack a little bit. cause there is just a tiny little bit of play that is barely noticeable. _________________ The sound of a car door opening in front of you is similar to the sound of a gun being cocked. ~Amy Webster |

Check out Chris Kings website and there reasoning for not making integrated headsets, it makes good sense, and as Brian alluded could be the case at hand. _________________ CHECK YES! |
