simmer down... geez!
Sorry guys, but we're still working on trying to get our admin shit all sorted out so that I can update the site like I normally would. Right now, only one of us has the ability to do that, and it ain't me... so I'll try to make sure we get it changed on the home page asap. Still, haven't heard any more about the details of this race, but when we do, we'll be sure to post it.
Another thing race organizers need to keep in mind - there's still a little thing out there called the Alleycats of Lexington GoogleGroups list. It's still very much alive and well, even though many of us who hang out on here get used to this as the only means of getting the word out about bike stuff.
There are over 200 members of that group, and each one gets your message whenever you post an email to the group saying, "Hey, I'm hosting an alley cat race on this date!". There are likely many members on there who ARE NOT also members here on the forums, so it's still a good idea to use that to your advantage as well.
Perhaps we should start up a Facebook group as well? _________________ ------------[] O

I know the information is out there because I've seen the poster... there are times and locations set.
Perhaps someone involved with organizing the race will give us some details soon? _________________ ------------[] O |

Hey there, folks.
Sorry for the lapse in information flow. My intent was to wait until the posters were completed so I could have a fun visual to go with the information that I'd be posting online. But I understand people need to get the details so they can plan accordingly. Here they are:
The race starts and finishes at the sidecar.
Registration begins at 6pm. The race starts at 7.
Racers are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to wear costumes consistent with the theme of the ride (Rock n' Roll) as we will be awarding the best- costumed male and female riders. First place M/F and DFL will also receive groovy prizes. Finally, there will be karaoke set up at the sidecar to assist in the celebration. I am still looking for a few checkpoint workers, so if anyone suspects that leather pants may compromise their riding ability or is interested in directing big-haired racers from stop to stop, please let me know.
I hope this satiates your antsy pantsies for now... |

Hopefully, we can get Guitar Hero set up during the registration part of the race. The Sidecar opens at 6pm, so if you'd like to play, or just drink beer, get there early. Karaoke will be provided at the finish line and the winners of each category will be required to sing a song or two. Sort of like the prom king and queen's dance. 'Cause you know, if you got it, flaunt it. _________________ pterodactyl bike gang for life! |

Yes. There was some concern that registration without Guitar Hero was a totally inappropriate way to start a Rock n' Roll-themed race. That being said, I recommend those who wish to exercise their Hero skills come to the sidecar closer to the start of registration. Those who wish to exercise their drinking skills should do the same. |

What era of Rock? Are we talking the greaser 50s, psychedelic 60s, stairway to heaven 70s, glam 80s, grunge 90s or are we thinking international like post-apocalyptic japanese synth and drums rock? |

Pointy 80's guitars and coaster brakes for the win!
And by win I mean probably staying at the sidecar playing video games and drinking the whole time. |
