All aboard the PAIN TRAIN!

Some of the best cyclocross racers throughout the Midwest will converge on Lexington, Kentucky's Veterans Park for an afternoon of pure sweet hell. Come out and race or make a party out of watching the mayhem. This event is open to ALL racers! Incredible venue...challenging, redesigned and VERY spectator friendly course.

For those unfamiliar with this epic cycling discipline:
Cyclo-cross often looks like a cross between MTB and road racing, but it also has it's own character. Key differences to those other cycling disciplines are the short laps that the races are held on and the race lengths. The laps are typically about 1.5 miles and elite riders race for just 1 hour - this makes for intense racing which can be seen every few minutes by supporters as the action happens.

Food, Music, and Kids races too!

a bunch of us went last year and staged some grass-court bike polo games on the only patch of level ground we could find out there.

I remember drinking porters between polo games while watching the racers. It was a good time.

I'd be up for a ride out there. Should be fun... the weather is going to be unpredictable on Sunday... wet, cold, possible snow flurries... AWESOME.

we need a helmet-mounted cowbell.

Like, a cowbell on a boom that sticks out in front, so it can be struck by the person wearing the helmet.
