I just received a front brake that I ordered from IRO and it does not fit. The bolt that would attach it to the bike is too short. If I am looking for a replacement how do I know that it will be long enough to fit my bike? _________________ Albert Einstein trembled when he found out time was water. I am sure that somebody makes that specific bolt. If not you could always go to Home Boy Depot and get some allthread and nuts to make your own. |

is the brake made to fit a fork crown with a recessed brake bolt (the other part of the bolt that screws in from the backside of the fork crown)?
If that's the case, the actual threaded part of the brake that goes in from the front is usually shorter, and the other threaded sleeve fits in through the back and the two are threaded together to tighten the brake assembly together. In cases like this, the brake caliper usually comes with several different sized threaded sleeves to fit a variety of different fork crown widths... I have a bunch of extra ones if you want to try them out. _________________ ------------[] O |

also drew, depending on the design, you might not be able to change the bolt. some of them are integrated, some not, you'll have to disassemble to find out |
