I have an idea for a bike event, and I want to solicate feed back from y'all. The idea is to have a group ride that would leave Lex on a Sat. evening and head out to a local campground, and return on Sunday morning. I thought we may be able to get a van to drive out family members that wouldn't want to ride and maybe they could bring camping gear for thaose that can't carryit. I'm excited about this and would be willing to put it together if I knew that people would be down. Are you down?
ps I know it is getting cold at night. _________________ CHECK YES! |

I may be able to get Sara to drive our "wind-up wagon" as well.
So, what are some prospective sites to throw out for suggestion? _________________ ------------[] O |

boonesborough or the horsepark? might be better suited to the spring though, im not sure many people (especially families) have sub freezing bags. |

I have had Nonesuch Campground in mind, it is about a 20 - 25 mi ride out Keene-Troy Rd. The entire ride would be light traffic. Although I've never been to the horse park to camp I think this miight be a little more remote/quiet. _________________ CHECK YES! |

the horse park actually has a pretty nice campground if my memory serves me right, not just a flat area with a million sites, i believe its spread out and sort of private? anybody know? |

I like the Nonesuch idea. I'd rather do 20+ miles to camp, instead of just riding down Newtown Pike. _________________ ------------[] O |

20ish sounds like a good number. It was 31 on my ride in this morning. How soon are we doing this Matt? Do Saturday nights work well for most people? |

I heard there is a nice area out by a lake nearby. Crystal something or other. There used to be a summer camp there. |

With it getting colder now, I would be into it sooner than later. How about the 15th 16th? Then if this goes well maybe we could get it going again in the spring for folks who aren't prepared to sleep in sub-frezzing temps. Just to throw out there if there are folks that are interested but don't have sleeping bags, I have stuff for 1-2 others depending on their comfort level and the temp. _________________ CHECK YES! |
