there's a pretty big free show going on tonight at the Red Mile. Some of you may have heard about this earlier, and it has already been discussed in another Lexrides thread this morning.

featuring members of Elf Power, Olivia Tremor Control, Neutral Milk Hotel, and many other E6 bands.

So, the big rumor and speculation that, in some ways overshadows the already huge lineup for this show, is that many people expect a surprise performance from the reclusive Jeff Mangum and a partially reunited Neutral Milk Hotel, since many of the members of the other bands have contributed to NMH in some form or another. Other factors that play into the legitimacy of this speculation could lay in the fact that Lexington is the final stop on this tour, and also because Lexington is the current home of Robert Schneider (Apples In Stereo, Marbles, Ulysses, etc.) who was once a contributing member of Neutral Milk Hotel, and was the producer of the critically acclaimed In The Aeroplane Over the Sea, which has been regarded as one of the seminal indie albums of the past decade.

It may happen, but then again it may not... you never know.
