Yup, I am bleeding heart socialist that thinks everything should be equal
I have thought about this topic some this week just want to throw it out there.
We are very lucky that Parks and Rec gave us the tennis courts to use. We are very lucky that Parks and Rec paid to have the courts resurfaced. We are very lucky we provided the energy for the above two to happen. We are very lucky the neighborhood has enjoyed having us and come out to help/play/bother/etc.
However, the other day while we were painting the courts I noticed how horrible the basketball courts are. Huge cracks and weeds growing all over the place. Now I know we could just say let the folks who want to play basketball deal with it but I wonder at the same time if there is something we can do.
When we paint on Saturday would folks be interested in helping to weed whip the weeds on the court? I am happy to bring the tools. I think it would help us be seen in the community as trying to help and not just doing stuff for ourselves.
I am pumped about hosting the maintenance clinics on Sundays and about getting the walls up for the mural but just thought it would be nice to help with the basketball courts.
Also, when the polo courts are finished and folks are back from Chicago I think we should try and have some type of party on the courts. Maybe a dance party, maybe bands, maybe bike-in movie.
