As a part of bike month we have created the Thursday morning commuter/advocate breakfast. Each morning will be a different topic or action item. This morning we wrote letters/post cards to our council rep requesting they continue to fund bike trails, paths, etc in Lexington. Mayor Newberry has submitted the budget proposal with and additional $1 million in funding for the upcoming year. It is up to the council to keep this line in the budget.

I live in the 11th district and voted today. Before doing so I called the current council person and asked her about her opinions on bike lanes. So, I am proud to say that I voted today for a person that would have the same views on bicycling in Lexington.
