For bikes with trigger shifters (most of you can stop reading this now)
But if you have a bike with trigger shifters that aren't quite as crisp as they used to be, or stopped working all together..try spraying some penetrating lube like WD-40 in through the holes in the sides of the shifter. Spray it long enough to make it start dripping out and shift it up and down quite a few times and it will have a good chance of working.
Just figured I'd throw this out there since its something some people could benefit from and its quick and easy. |

you may want to use a metal prep like clean streak instead. the wd-40 tends to corrode after a bit of time. do the same thing but with clean streak instead for crisp shifting. |
