More Info
MOVING KY is Lexington’s contribution to a worldwide rally on September 24th, 2011 called Moving Planet (http://www.moving-planet.org/). This rally will shine a light on solutions to the climate crisis, direct those who desire further education, and offer our concerned community an opportunity to gather. It will be a single day to move away from fossil fuels and bring our collective attention to the challenge.
COME ON your bike, on skates, on a board, or on foot. Come with your neighbors and your friends, your family and your co-workers. Come be part of something huge. It's time to get moving on the climate crisis.
CHECK OUT the day's itinerary at http://www.movingky.org/ and ORDER A TSHIRT for the photoshoot!
INCLUDING: A MOVING KY ALLEY CAT bike ride!
PLUS a Lexington encore screening of the internationally-acclaimed documentary CARBON NATION, by Louisville filmmaker Peter Byck, at the Lexington Public Library!
Billed as "a climate change SOLUTIONS movie (that doesn't even care if you believe in climate change)," CARBON NATION portrays an optimism and pragmatism which are appealing across the political spectrum. While other good films have been about problems, blame and guilt, CARBON NATION is a film that celebrates solutions, inspiration and action. And the film is making news from London to LA for this fresh and upbeat approach.

++ “Climate change in fact is a national security issue. This is no longer the purview of Birkenstock-wearing tree huggers. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.” THE ARMY COLONEL
++ “So if you don’t give a damn about the environment, do it because you’re a greedy bastard and you just want cheap power.” THE BIOCHEMICAL ENGINEER |
