Velo Swap fer sure! Need to talk with Reid to figure out a date.
I'm considering planning a bike / camping trip to either Nonesuch, or Horse Park camping ground via Legacy Trail. We'll see how that pans out in the next few weeks... _________________ ------------[] O |

I think each year, as Bike Lexington approaches, it's worth it to remind everyone who actively participates in the bike community here, perhaps a lot of people are under the impression that the programs and events during May for Bike Lexington are just decided upon in an office somewhere in the City Government building. Truth is, you don't need to be on some committee or board in order to help come up with fun bike events for Bike Lexington.
As always, each year the schedule is for the most part, filled out with events that our very own peers have decided to take ownership of, and see to it that they are organized, promoted, and that they happen. I can only imagine how much better Bike Lexington could be if more people realized the power of coming up with a great idea, then working with others to make them happen.
There's a great case in point from last year... the Bike-In Movie (Pee Wee's Big Adventure). For the past couple of years, Brian Ronk had been wanting to organize an outdoor bike-in movie, or a series of bike-in movies to coincide with Bike Lexington. His initial idea was an informal event that would be held in different backyards of people who were willing to "host" the movie. When time came to start putting stuff on the schedule for Bike Lexington, he started talking with Brad Flowers and myself to help him realize the plan. Brad and I started talking with a few other people at the DLC about using the new Cheapside Pavilion for the movie. They liked the idea, and ended up getting us clearance to show the movie, and they even payed for the performance rights for showing the movie. At that point, all that needed to be done was the construction of the giant screen, which Brian, Brad and Griff all participated in.
So that's it... that's basically how each event for Bike Lexington comes together. It's a lot more of a collaborative effort that most people think it is. So... anyone have some good ideas for things they want to see happen? _________________ ------------[] O |

Looks like I'm heading up two events this year:
Velo Swap - TBD
Bike-In Movie - May 26th (Cheapside Pavilion, after Thursday Night Live)
I'll post more info about these as it comes in. _________________ ------------[] O |

Looking for movie nominations, or have you decided on what to show? |

Certainly up for suggestions! Fire away. However, since we'll be purchasing the performance rights from the same company as last year, we may be somewhat limited in our choices... But maybe not. _________________ ------------[] O |

Quicksilver was on my list, too. I can't remember how "all ages" it is. Not that it matters to me, but I think given the venue, and since DLC is paying for it, I can see them wanting it to be pretty safe.
Here's my suggestions:
RAD
Quicksilver
Triplets
Goonies
Has anyone ever seen The Bicycle Thief? _________________ ------------[] O |

We can compile a list of everyone's suggestions and throw a poll up. _________________ ------------[] O |

The bicycle thief is a great movie. It's kinda sad, though... |
