If anyone is interested, the Lex Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Bike/Ped Advisory Cmte will be holding its November meeting Friday the 5th in Room E-115 at Southland Christian Church (Enter Building E from main parking lot off Brannon Rd.)
We will review the Status of LFUCG, Jessamine Co., KYTC, MPO, UK, and other Groups' Bike/Ped projects and advocacy efforts while we brown bag lunch.
Afterwards we plan to ride the newly opened US 68 separate shared use path from just beyond the church to the Y split of US 68 and KY 29 where the path ends. The Path is about 6-7 miles and runs on new alignment or along the old US 68 that remain open to the local residents.
With a little more effort (a mile or two connection at either end), this facility could become a real cycling attraction featuring Wilmore as a destination with cafes, an historic downtown, Bs and Bs and more.
Attending the BPAC and showing your support can make the State and MPO Transportation developers more aware of the demand for these facilities and help us build on what we have.
Hope to see you Friday, November 5th at SCC

Mike

What time is this meeting Mike? Would any one like to ride together to it?

Matty - DUH seems I always manage to leave out a detail -
BPAC meetings begin at noon the first Fri of the month.
I live in Southland. We could arrange to meet at, say, Morris Bookshop in Southland about 11a or so to ride out Southview to Stone Rd. to Clays Mill to Brannon Rd. to S-land Christian Church, I say about 5-6 miles.
Thanks for the question/reminder.
Hope we can arrange something,
Mike
