Cane Creek SCR-5 brake levers/hoods

I purchased a set of these a little over a year ago for my road bike. They're made by Tektro for Cane Creek, and while they come with a few features that I really like, ultimately, I switched them out because I couldn't stand the hoods.

What I like: they're solid levers with a nice ergo shape to the actual lever itself. They come in two sizes; regular and small (I purchased the small because my hands are somewhat small for a dude). Also, there's a quick-release button built into the lever which is great, especially if you use older brake calipers (or Campagnolo) that do not have the quick-release on the side of the caliper. Another cool thing is that they come in both black and gum-colored hoods.

What I don't like: The hoods themselves are really thick - even on the small sized version. Gripping them didn't feel natural or comfortable as it felt like I was holding onto a small tree branch instead of a brake hood. This also caused my hands to cramp up when riding for long periods. The lizard grip pattern is kinda fugly.

What did them in: The rubber on the hoods had a tendency to stretch out the more I rode on them. Ultimately, they became so loose, that the rubber would bunch up under my hands, especially when wearing gloves. I couldn't stand it anymore, so I switched them out for some Shimano hoods.

I hope this sort-of-review helps anyone who might be considering a set of these.
