Hey everyone,

So we have the invitational coming up and I think we should really get the courts finished. Is anyone opposed to putting the league fees toward the 2nd court? For the non-leaguers, I think we should ask for donations. We got plenty of paint left, so we just need boards.

I say let's get her done on the 20th - 21st....

Also, for the next round of league play, I believe we will be creating the most equal teams possible so that each game will be challenging. This will also allow for some newbies to play with more advanced players. If there is a tourny coming up and you want to practice with a certain team, you'll have to take care of that during pickup. Any cries of outrage?

I think it all sounds great. I'd definitely be up for a more balanced mix in the next round of leagues... but how do you do that without simply picking the teams? I'm fine with that, of course, but I think if we let people form teams at will, we're still going to end up with a couple of stacked teams.

I'm just sorry I won't be able to help on the 20-21st

who took care of buying the boards last time? they would probably have an idea of how much it cost. plus whatever hardware we need.

how about the corners? are we going to do the high walls or just leave them low?

I think it would be best to paint the boards before installing them on the court. I still have a ton of brushes and rollers... everyone can reclaim theirs.

We really only have this weekend and next weekend to get it done. And the 27th is Rich's race, dance party, etc. So if the weather is nice enough this weekend, I think we should aim for it.

That was me and Grant. Grant mostly coordinated the construction, too. Grant talked to the folks at Congleton Lumber and they worked a deal with us on some old, pressure treated lumber they had laying around back that they could not sell. We spent somewhere in the range of $1,000 - $1,200 on what is there on the courts now. Grant may still have some remaining wood at his place.

For the boards we used 1" x 12" pressure treated planks (there are a few 1" x 10"s that are shorter). For the corners we built a framed 2 ft. x 8 ft. section out of treated 2x4's and treated plywood sheets.

I will not be in town this next weekend, so you may want to contact Grant to see if he can provide some additional details and/or assistance.
