well, unless it dries up quite a bit before then, the field is in really bad shape right now. We talked a lot yesterday about doing something, or offering to reseed the field soon.

yesterday was soft, soggy and slow. the far end was like a sponge.

I think the time has come to find another pitch to play on for a while until our home court gets reconditioned. perhaps after the polo battle on Saturday?

I always thought Coolavin Park would be a good place to play. I have not been there in a while but last time I was there the tennis courts did not have nets and the fields looked like they would work.

Just a thought.

Or if we can find a contained parking lot. Some place like a school with a small parking lot that has curbs. I think we need to be careful about a place like this and the amount of beer we usually consume matches

Another option is a field on UK campus that is somewhat hidden - it is off College Way near Alumni.

We use to play soccer matches there several years ago and no one every bothered us. Not sure what condition the pitch is in currently. -Greg

Nowadays they use it as the intermural soccer field. If that one's being used you could always got to eh fields behind the Johnson Center right at the corner of Cooper and University.

What about the infield of the short track that we ride on Upper between 5th and 6th.

Or using Greg's map go to corner of Hart and Cassidy there is a good size parking lot or they also have a track that we could play on the infield.

There is also Eaton Park, back parking lot of the Dillards on Richmond rd or even the park back there.

id think theyd kick you off intermural fields pretty quick with bikes on them, but what about masterson station? plenty of field out there, and the hockeyrink for a change of pace, plus bike lanes pretty much all the way from downtown

theres the elementary and middle schools on tates creek too, right where east high becomes tates creek.

A good alternative for todays match would be the outfield of the ball diamond @ woodland. I think if we do another days worth of damage to our usual area any time soon, we will probably be facing more opposition than a schizophrenic, dog walking, woodland park crusader.

Yeah we can try that spot and see. The usual pitch had a small frozen pond in the middle of it yesterday. It is torn up beyond use - there are dog tracks, bike tracks and the like running through the mud.

We might be able to squeeze a tight field out of the area on the other side of the footdown tree and the skatepark.

We'll figure it out today but will have to come up with an alternate spot starting next week.

There is a nice field up woodland avenue before it makes the hard right at the library. The apartment on the left side of the road have a large athletic field where international student play cricket. There is also a basket ball court there so we could have a grass game and a hard court game going at the same time. I guess we would need more mallets though. Good luck with the st. louis folks today. I will be out of town

why not in the skatepark? the games could start with the ball on the pyramid and foot down dudes have to drop in the mini ramp.
