Anyone interested in doing a portrait shoot for bike polo portraits? Player and bike, also of player only, and bike only. More of a documentation of sorts, and try and do these periodically over time. I think this might be a fun way to document the upcoming year of lexington polo.

Would anyone have anything that we might be able to use as a backdrop (about 10' x 6'), or know where to get one?

Let me know if you could help out, or if we might want to switch photographers for portrait sessions since we have a rather large amount of picture takers in the group. |

what are your thoughts on this if we have multiple photographers? Have each person with a camera take a stab at each portrait, or delegate who gets to do just people, just bikes, both, etc? I think either could be cool. I'm especially pumped to see what Boyd pulls off with that press camera. Makes me wish I had my Hasselblad and my Graflex up and running. _________________ ------------[] O |

				| My idea was more that everyone who wants gets a month or a specific date. That way we can also see changes over the year, as well as the styles of each photographer. Seems like we've got 5 interested parties at the moment, with more to come. That might make for a good monthly schedule, though the date planning is all for each individual photographer to set. Post a date you want to shoot, and we'll try and help each other set up for the shoot. Try to make it evenly spread out, and see what happens. |

Let's have a foto beer party: bring bike, beer, camera, and game face. That way anybody can be a poser and a picture taker.

My question is location. Do we do it at the courts and go raw? Or do we step into a studio and gloss it up? Logan's seamless background is perfect for indoor use, but would it cooperate outside? Plus, it'll need to be bigger than normal to accommodate person/bike.

If we went inside, I can get 4x5 fuji instant color film, which works to about 50 degrees. Lower temps would take too long to expose. If we were outside, I would use othrochromatic film that would look old-timey. Red and oranges don't expose and appear dark. Blues appear white. |

The paper rolls I have are big enough (9 ft wide, and I think the stands go up to 10 ft tall), but any wind would definitely be an issue. |

I agree with Chris... no backdrops will make it more natural for a polo portrait. We don't want them too sterile, right?

short DOF... bokeh up the background... it'll look sweet. _________________ ------------[] O |
