|
|
Drew Combs just arrived from Colorado packing a fresh batch of ski poles. If anyone is looking to have one built up let either of us know.
Built-up mallets are $10 each and include an uncut, un-drilled mallet head attached to an uncut ski pole. Any other modifications - cut to length, grip wrap, drilled heads, etc. - are left up to you.
Drew is taking payment up front for any mallet requests. I'd negotiate a price with him if you're just looking for a ski pole.
There is the standard black MDPE head material available, but there is also some yellow HDPE that Nick and Jared recently scored. Ask them about it if you're interested. _________________ ------------[] O |

is the money from the heads going to polo? Rich and I found about 15 ft of the orange.
I know Drew paid for the poles so he needs to get reimbursed. |

yeah, Drew spent good money bringing these poles back, so we need to make sure he gets reimbursed first and foremost.
I think if you found something, and didn't have to pay out of pocket for it, if you want to charge for it figure in whatever it is worth to you for your troubles and then figure out how much, if any, you'd like to contribute to the overall polo fund. We can always use extra dough for something polo related, and besides, it's what baby Jesus would want you to do.
6 matching pairs of this new batch are really nice - all Scott Series 2 poles. _________________ ------------[] O |

Are there any of these ski poles still left? Bloomington is waaay hard up at the moment. I'd gladly pay 10, even 15, for a quality Scott, and no shipping since we could just meet up at the lock-in. |

Eureka! I'll want at least 2 for myself, but I'll tell people at pickup on Monday and come back to you with a definite answer. At $10 a pop we'll almost certainly take all 8 that you have.
As far as heads, we have 40 ft of yellow hdpe at the moment, so we should be good. I am however always interested in trading gas pipe for materials/colors that I don't have. |

Wow- two text messages and all 8 are sold. It shows how much we really need 'em.
Drew, around here you'll be considered a minor hero for a while! (much like Nick from Como when he gave us our first gas pipe) |

brokebike, i know you and drewbles are super busy right now, but may i put in a request for a mallet? no rush... i'm not sure if we even have poles right now, but whenever y'all are making another batch i'd love to buy one from y'all. playing with a different mallet every time is certainly a fun challenge, but it would be nice to not have to throw a broom in as a place holder every once and a while. let me know if i can help you guys makin them! _________________ Time moves very slowly when submerged in the jaws of a hippo. -- Hippo Survivor, Animal Planet |

So, in hopes of finally getting paid back, here's the final sales pitch.
We've got 7 poles left of amenable quality (Scott Series 2 or similar). They are long and generally straight. I generally paid $12 a pair for them in Colorado. Your price will be $6 a pole. That's free shipping! 1200 miles of it! If you would like a head built onto the pole, the cost will be $10 and any extra money made will go to Brian, (the builder) and the polo fund. You can reach me by text, e-mail, pm, or just by responding to this post. Thanks.
So there it is. 7 left. Get 'em while they last.
Megan and Christina, your's are in the works. _________________ pterodactyl bike gang for life! |
