We need checkpoint workers! You will get bourbon (to keep you from freezing) and a hiking map from outrageGIS mapping.

Please PM me for the details if you're interested.

The Race is On Tomorrow Night!! Dress warmly and prepare for a night of disillusionment, which will be temporary. You'll rock the race, enjoy the twists and turns, and especially love the cash prizes, Hack Bags, and lots of other goodies.

Will there be hot toddy's, spiced wine, or any other warm adult beverages involved? Because that might actually get me out of my cocoon.

Yes we will have adult beverages (and Audra's Absolutely Awesome cookies that you can dip into your adult beverages).

Ok, so it snowed more last night and it's cold, but let me assure you that this race will not toture you with long rides on slushy, snowbound roads. You'll find much of the course easily traversable. We will have an off-road segment that will be entertaining. Overall, you will find this is a race well suited for these winter conditions.

The Frozen Chosen was a great night. If you didn't make it then, or if you did and want to add more to your adventure, then this is your ride. It will be colder with added thrill of a hot competition for cash money.

We've been collecting more prizes and we'll have a great raffle. If you don't race and show up for the afterparty, you can rock out, but don't be jealous, no need to apologize, and please don't whine....and you can't have any prizes.

See you soon!

As much as I hate to, I'm going to have to settle for skipping the race and just heading over to the afterparty. I did a stupid thing by rocking the Frozen Chosen with a bad cold, and my body has been hating me for it ever since. Probably shouldn't risk it again tonight so soon after.

Have fun tonight, everyone... stay warm and safe. I see y'all somewhere between Posture and Latin Heat's sets!

Thanks to Boyd and the checkpoint workers for a fun event. The route took us up numerous parking structures downtown. Cold wasn't a concern. We got plenty of exercise with minimal ice and snow. The cookies and prizes were excellent!

What a night! Thanks to all of the riders who braved the night and endured the disillusion. We had a modest turn-out for the race, but the afterparty rocked as Latin Heat burned down the Sidecar.

The course:
The race took riders first to Gratz park for refreshments and figure-8's on the park's walkway. The next stops were on top of the parking towers the Ventilator, the Oinky Hole, and Cyanide Cove. These were located by spotting red blinkies from the highest tower downtown, the Ventilator. The final stop was another spin through Gratz Park and then a sprint to the finish line at the Sidecar.

The winners:
Megan Stanton, 1rst girl
Kyle Hord, 1rst boy
Tiff Marrow, 2nd girl
Dave Lane, 2nd boy
Will Mullins, DFL who broke a crank arm and finished the course on foot.

The prizes and raffle:
1rst place boy/girl both received half of the registration cash and sweet and durable tool bags from Hack Bags (http://www.hackbags.com).

We raffled the following:
Gift certificates from Third Street Stuff (http://www.thirdstreetstuff.com/) and Pops Resale (http://www.popsresale.com/)
Shirts, hats, pint glasses, mugs, and all from Big Ass Fans (http://www.bigassfans.com/)
Gear from Pedal Power Bike Shop (http://pedalpowerbikeshop.com/)
Hiking maps from outrageGIS mapping (http://www.outrageGIS.com)
....and two lottery tickets, a pickle, a double-deuce of hair-on-your-chest, the remainder of cookies-n-bourbon, and a 40oz of love-making in an extra-large bike bottle carrier, which was won by Patty.

Thanks to the participants and our local business who donated prizes and support bicycling in our city. Thanks to Latin Heat for playing and the Sidecar at Al's Bar for opening early!

Check point workers:
Danny Mayer on the Ventilator
Doug Bunge on Cyanide Cove
HHack on the Oinky Hole
DoFlo and Alex at Gratz Park
